Yacht
Charter Guide
Experiencing
a Caribbean yacht charter or sailing hoilday
in Turkey, Greece or elsewhere in the Mediterranean
gives you the opportunity to explore and relax
in a way that land based vacations can’t.
You can choose:
1)
A Fully Crewed Yacht Charter- click
here for more information.
Ideal for those who've never sailed before,
or for a group with mixed experience. Your crew
will take care of every detail leaving you free
to take off your watch and really focus on relaxing
and having fun.
2)
Skippered Charter- click here
for more information.
Your Captain will act as guide and host ensuring
your safety throughout. However, this is a more
basic service and you will be responsible for
cooking and cleaning onboard. Ideal for charters
in the Windwards and Grenadines where there
is so much local culture to be found ashore.
3)
Bareboat Charter- click here
for more information.
This option is for the seasonsed sailor. At
least two members of the party must be competent
in sailing and navigation (a sailing CV will
need to be completed). Ideal for those who know
how to sail and enjoy the independence of carving
their own path.
1. Fully Crewed Yacht
Charter
A
crewed sailing vacation tailored specifically
to your design. Your chef will prepare delicious
meals to your preferences and you will decide
the itinerary with your Captain. Unlike a sailing
vacation on a cruise ship, there’s no
need to queue up or eat on schedule or share
your space with crowds of strangers.
This is your yacht, time and space
to do with as you wish.
Your
Crew
The
yacht you charter is maintained and run by a
permanent, professional crew, usually a couple
who are captain and chef.
The qualified skipper will know the charter
area well and together as a team, they will
enjoy making sure that you have the vacation
of a lifetime.
Matching your party to the most suitable crew
is an important part of our service. So
if you have a preference for a crew who can
teach you watersports or you have a specific
diet, we can advise you on the best crewed charter
yacht for you.
Gourmet
Cuisine
Knowing
that fine-dining is an important part of any
vacation, the chefs make enormous effort to
produce stylishly presented gourmet meals to
suit individual requirements and preferences.
Whether you need a special diet catered for,
or just have a passion for mangoes, your chef
will tailor-make a menu to suit your tastes.
And, your captain will discuss with you a suggested
itinerary based on your preferred activities
and locations which can be adapted during the
charter.
Watersports
Snorkelling
equipment comes as standard and most charter
yachts carry a wide range of water toys from
kayaks to wakeboards.
Scuba
diving is also very popular, either with a rendez-vous
dive company or under the careful guidance of
certified crew. The scuba
diving in the British
Virgin Islands is amongst the finest in
the world offering a spectacular range of wreck
and reef dives to suit all skill levels.
If you like blowing bubbles, then scuba diving
in the BVI must be high on your agenda. Another
sport growing in popularity is kite surfing
in the BVI.
Accommodation
Some
people think that sleeping on a boat will involve
a hammock and no fixed abode for your toothbrush.
Not so on a crewed yacht charter.
Obviously the larger the yacht, the larger the
staterooms. Generally speaking, catamarans
offer the most spacious sleeping accommodation
and most of the crewed charter yachts we represent
have ensuite bathroom facilities. The crew will
keep these clean and tidy throughout your sailing
vacation and your linen will be changed midweek.
The yachts are presented to an extremely high
standard and much thought and effort goes into
styling the interior furnishings. Linens, towels
and beach towels are all included in the rate.

2.
Skippered Only Charter
There are a few yachts in
the BVI that offer skippered only charters and
several in the Mediterranean (especially if you're
thinking about a sailing holiday in Turkey and
Greece).
If
you're thinking about a skippered only charter
in the Caribbean, St Lucia, in particular, has
some lovely yachts from which to choose at great
value.The
reason tends to be that eating out is relatively
less expensive in St Lucia and in the Grenadines
and that most people who start a charter in St
Lucia want to enjoy the sailing as well as absorbing
local colour ashore.
This is the ideal way to achieve that. Under the
knowledgeable guide of an experienced captain,
your safety is ensured and you can relax in the
knowledge that you will get to see all the best
spots.
This is obviously less expensive than chartering
a fully crewed yacht. The captains that we recommend
in St Lucia will also be happy to help with advanced
provisioning orders for you, airport transfers,
arranging shoreside accommodation, etc.

3.
Bareboat Charter
This
tends to be the first choice when there's a
group of experienced sailors wishing to go it
alone. We work with only the most reputable
bareboat charter companies (it won't cost you
any more to book through us than going direct)
and independent boats.
We only recommend bareboat charters to people
who have got sufficient experience for the size
of yacht and area in which they wish to charter.
